Ski Area

Snowed Inn Chalets is based in Serre Chevalier, an incredibly large ski area with 250km of piste, known for it's wide tree runs, varied terrain & easily accessible off piste. Take a look at the piste map in the pdf below.

> 410 hectares of marked runs
> 59 lifts including the iconic "Serre Chevalier" cable car
> 82 runs (13 black, 30 red, 26 blue and 13 green)
> 80 % of the slopes located at more than 2,000 metres for an optimal snow cover

Beginners

A safe choice for the complete beginner, with good nursery slopes in each village. There are some good confidence building runs, such as the Grande Alpe at the top of the gondola above Chantmerle. Or enjoy the Mickey run, which has a perfectly placed pub at the base of it!

A great bonus is that a lot of beginner runs meet up with most intermediate and expert runs, meaning a party of different levels can still spend their days together.

Intermediates

Serre Chevalier is a great area for intermediates with great blue and red pistes throughout the resort, wide open cruisey runs higher up the mountain and some sweet runs through the trees lower down. We love how the area is great for progression. You could start the holiday unsure on a red and end confident on a black! Tried & Tested!

Experts

Serre Chevalier has 13 black runs and approximately 9 "Brut de Neige" areas (controlled unpisted zones). And let's not forget to mention the off piste. There is so much terrain to discover it is untrue. Spot a line from a chair lift and make a short hike to get to powder heaven or make the most of your time away and grab a guide for the day. Either way, from cliff face descents to challenging alpine routes, we have it. Find some more information on where to find these runs here.

Families

With its "Famille Plus Montagne" holiday label, children are treated like kings in Serre Chevalier! Apart from a fantastic mountain to play on there are many activities to get involved in, including bowling, skating, swimming, tobogganing and much more!

Freestylers

Serre Chevalier has the Altitude snow park which is located under the Foret chair above Villeneuve. The park is approximately 700 metres long with lines for beginners, intermediates and advanced. It's pretty rad! It has 30 different obstacles including boxes, rails, table tops, hips and a wall ride. A dedicated draglift has recently been installed and there are snow making machines so the park can stay open longer. A 100m boardercross is between the Grand Serre and Combes lifts above Chantemerle.

There is now also a Big Air Bag, so you can practise your spins with confidence. You can book this through ESF with 10 jumps for €15.

Something a little different

There is now the chance to get involved with night skiing in Briancon! At certain times of the season there is the chance to get back on the hill after your supper from 1930 to 2230.

Monetier is home to Serre Chevalier's Arva Park that is situated by the blue run 'Eychauda'. The park has Arva signals buried within it that are designed to simulate searching for victims in an avalanche. This park is a great way to ensure visitors know how to use their Arvas. There are also six Arva checkpoints situated throughout the valley that will enable skiers to check there arvas are working correctly. These points are clearly marked on the piste map.

Join in the events throughout the season. We are already excited about this upcoming winters 'Kikafeplouf'. The idea is simple, a snow area specially built for the occasion, with different freestyle modules based around a pool of water 20 m long and 80 cm deep. The challenge?  Ski or snowboard across without getting wet! ... Music, food, and spring atmosphere!

IMPORTANT NOTE RE: GUIDING

We are now unable to offer guiding as a service due to the new laws set in France. However, we will tell you about the perfect spots suited to you, your groups levels and the conditions .
